Mission Statement.

Currently the AKCT is formulating a code of conduct which we hope will become an industry standard.

This Code will detail common sense steps to be abided by when selling knives to ensure:

- Knives are not obtained by minors
- That they are advertised responsibly
- That staff members involved in selling knives are aware of the relevant legislation.
- That knives are not displayed within reach of minors

Rather than enforce punitive legislation on the knife industry, we intend to show the Government and the public at large that we represent an industry willing and able to self-regulate in order to ensure we all continue to have the freedom to enjoy and use the tools we need.

Our aims are:

- To Provide an easily accessible resource to current knife law.

- Promote the public awareness of the heritage, diversity and utility of knives as tools.

- To educate young people about the safe and proper use of knives.

- To work with Government and Law enforcement agencies to formulate balanced, sensible and effective legislation relating to knives.

- To protect and represent the interests of the knife industry, collectors, makers and enthusiasts.
